Language of your dog - Dogs groans and cries

Poor little Lenny, my little yorkie male is next to me at my foot and he's looking at me and he's groaning and crying! Poor baby...It Looks like he is really crying, he uses that sound awhen he wants me to get my attention and he wants me to take care of him and he wants to come on my lap.
He will cry none stop until I take him on my lap or until i show him i'm not happy and i want him to stop... I tell him "Lenny, no, stop crying! In this case ... he will stop and go to bed ery crestfallen.

Lenny is my spoiled little baby and my champion whiner!

He whimpers and groans without hesitation to make me understand and to get what he wants.

It is very rare that my more independant Mimi began to gwhimper and cry like that
! She is more dominant than Lenny, who is entirely submissive ... and, it is his character since in was a puppy!

Why do some dogs cry like that while others do not?
Let me explain: The whining, the moaning is always an issued by a lower ranking dog who wants to get in touch with us, senior or leader.
